On the morning of October 23rd, students from grades 9-11 piled into their classes ready to begin the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test, also known as the PSAT. The PSAT is used to prepare students for the SAT, a standardized test used for college admissions. Meanwhile, seniors relaxed at home, enjoying their day off.
After a long three hours of testing, students hurried off of campus at 12:00 PM, ready to enjoy their afternoon of no classes. Junior Brianna Kruse is confident in her work stating, “ I used my SAT prep textbook to study, which had a lot of tips and practice questions.” A lot of students can relate to this as they use many resources to increase the chances of a good score. One of these sources is PrimeTime, a daily video series provided by STA, which contains common SAT questions and instructions for solving them.
Now that the test is complete, students will continue to check cb.practice, a website that will allow them to see their scores when they become available, which is expected to be from November 7th-14th. The STA community is known to shine in many aspects, and high PSAT scores are one of them. In 2024, there were an outstanding 16 National PSAT Semifinalists who were awarded due to their scores being well above the state average. The PSAT scores that are yet to come out are just a few of the many impressive accomplishments of STA students.
