The pop star has single-handedly sold out stadiums and arenas across the globe. Recently, Taylor brought her Eras Tour to South Florida for three enchanting nights at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Thousands of Swifties gathered to celebrate her 18-year discography. From untouchable performances to special guest stars, fans experienced an unforgettable evening. Make sure to stay, stay, stay to hear about what made Friday the best day ever!
Each of Taylor’s concerts begins with a talented opening act. Miami was lucky to receive a surreal performance from indie-pop singer Gracie Abrams. The “I Love You, I’m Sorry” star sang nine songs from her albums The Secret of Us, Good Riddance, and Minor. With each song, the crowd chanted louder.
As the clock struck 8:00, Taylor rose onto the stage. From her signature red lip to her striking red-bottom boots, she graced the catwalk in a sunset-colored bodysuit and sang five songs from the Lover album: “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince,” “Cruel Summer,” “The Man,” “You Need to Calm Down,” and “Lover.” Soon after, she gave a heartfelt speech to the attendees, thanking them for their support and expressing her excitement to perform some of the Eras Tour’s last shows in the passionate city of Miami.
Instantly, the next era began. In a brand new silver and blue Roberto Cavalli dress, accompanied by knee-high white Christian Louboutin boots, she performed three top hits from her sophomore album, Fearless: “Fearless,” “You Belong With Me,” and “Love Story.” Following closely, the Red era commenced. Sporting her “Not A Lot Going On At The Moment” bedazzled shirt and the iconic “22 hat,” she sang “22.” Then she executed a quick change into a black and red gradient bodysuit to sing “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” with the addition of Kam Saunders’ “Pero like, never!” She also performed a shortened version of “I Knew You Were Trouble.” Ending the Red era, she layered a matching gradient coat over her bodysuit to perform the fan favorite, “All Too Well (Ten-Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).”
Next, she performed one song from Speak Now: “Enchanted.” Taylor, in a state of grace, appeared in a lavender gown. In no time, the arena felt a shift in ambiance, and the Reputation era began. The pop star appeared in a never-before-seen gold and black asymmetrical bodysuit, adorned with a snake design. She performed three songs: “Delicate,” “Don’t Blame Me,” and “Look What You Made Me Do.” As the “Folklore cabin” was placed upon the stage, two new eras began, sister albums, Folklore and Evermore. The stage transformed into a mystical forest, and Taylor wore a cranberry-colored dress, accompanied by her guitar. In total, from the two albums, she performed eight songs: “Cardigan,” “Betty,” “Champagne Problems,” “August,” “Illicit Affairs,” “My Tears Ricochet,” “Marjorie”, and “Willow.”
The stage transformed once again, as the 1989 era began. Taylor sparkled in an orange and green set, singing her top hits from the album like “Style,” “Blank Space,” “Shake It Off,” “Wildest Dreams,” and “Bad Blood,” With two eras left, The Tortured Poets Department set began. Taylor wore her unique TTPD-themed dress with quotes referencing the album. Since this is her newest album, she performed quite a few songs, including “Female Rage: The Musical,” “But Daddy I Love Him,” “So High School,” “Florida!!!” (with Florence Welch), “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?,” “Down Bad,” “Fortnight,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” and “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” Finally, the last era began, Midnights. In a brand-new lavender t-shirt dress and matching lavender fur coat, she performed seven songs from the album, including “Lavender Haze,” “Anti‐Hero”, “Midnight Rain,” “Vigilante,” “Bejeweled,” “Mastermind,” and “Karma.”
In between the eras of The Tortured Poets Department and Midnights, Taylor performed her infamous acoustic surprise songs. As she came on stage, she debuted a new Surprise Song Dress—a pink, purple, and teal chiffon dress designed by Roberto Cavalli. On Miami Night One, Taylor sang a mash-up of four songs in total. First, on the guitar, she sang “Tim McGraw” (Taylor Swift) x “Timeless” (Speak Now, Taylor’s Version). Since she performed a song from her debut album, Swifties speculated she will re-release her self-titled album, Taylor Swift. Second, on her piano, decorated with wildflowers, she performed “This is Me Trying” (Folklore) x “Daylight” (Lover). Fans look forward to this segment of the concert, which features two surprise songs, making each performance incredibly special.
Overall, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Miami was sweeter than fiction, showcasing her incredible talent, which fans knew all too well. She took full advantage of the nostalgic journey through her music career. From her energetic performances to her emotional songs, Taylor’s ability to connect with the crowd was truly paramount. As all good things came to an end, she exited the stage. She will travel to five more cities before the Eras Tour wraps up, leaving fans to guess what will come next.
