On Saturday September 2st, the STA Cross-Country team took part at the Spanish RIver XC Invitational in Boca Raton. Here is how they did in the Boys and Girls 3A and 4A division.
JV GIrls
Isabel Puebla and Alexis finished in 16th and 18th as the first Raiders to cross the finish line. They were followed by a trio of Raiders with Caoimhe McConville, Ana Sarraga, and Peyton RIch in 26th, 27th, and 28th. Shortly behind, they were followed by Soeni Jean and Kiley Opsal in 31st and 32nd. Kate Koonz crossed the line in 39th. Sophia Rivero finished in 59th and Elizabith Riggs and Sofia Pione finished in 64th and 65th. Barbara Kahn finished in 110th, Madeline finished 134th, and Mackenzie Broderick wrapped up the Lady Raiders in 145th. This led the JV Girls to a 4th place finish.
JV Boys
George Velez-Marquez was the first Raider to cross the finish line in 76th. Zack Nonez
and Jacob McKaig finished one behind another in 82nd and 83rd with the exact same time of 22:11.15. Daniel Samela finished in 98th with Sebastian Ramierez and Nikolas Delvecchio in 100th and 101st. Konrad Fellmenth finished in 103rd and Phillp Sampson finished in 108th. Ethan Minayak came across the line in 120th Joseph Castro in 130th. Tyler Arch finished in 137th, Micheal Vrenna finished 140th, and Pierce Weber in 144th to wrap up the JV boys for the Raiders. The boys placed 10th.
Varsity Girls
Grace Finneran was the first Raider to cross the finish line in 4th place. Shortly behind her was Taylor Gold in 8th. Rebecca Cardnenas, Charlotte Lee, and Ana Isabella Quingtuana finished in 21st, 28th and 29th to round off the Raiders in the top 30. Ivy Maus finished in 49th, Remy Cola finished in 56th and Kylie Brunnermer finished in 58th. Christie Petrosino and Angelica Cardenas finished one behind each other in 74th and 75th to finish the Varsity Girls Cross-Country race for the Raiders. WIth a strong performance the Lady Raiders were able to clinch another first place.
Varsity Boys
Jeremiah Holassie was the first Raider to finish in the Varsity boys race in 35th place. Ethan Maus finished in 55th and Tyler Blake finished in 75th. Gustavo Perez finished in 83rd and Alexander Selamn was closely behind in 92nd. Jon Magbanua crossed the line in 124th. Rory Ellis finished in 152nd, Mike Kraus in 159th and Nicholas Grillo finished in 170th to finish the Raiders’ performance. This led them to a 9th place finish and finished off the meet for the Raiders.
