EA Sports College Football 25, the long awaited game, has finally been released on July 19, 2024 after rumors of its release since 2014. The original version of the game was discontinued after NCAA 14, which was released July 9, 2013. Fans have been obsessed over the rerelease of this game for the last decade: that’s how you knew the game was going to be good. 2.2 million people tuned in to play EA Sports College Football 25 in the early access part, with a cost of at least $100 and upwards of $150 for copies. This game has unique modes such as Play a Friend, Road to CFP, Road to Glory, and Ultimate Team. This “Arcade-y” style game is fun for many but also allows for some competition. There have already been large tournaments that have drawn a big public appearance such as the daily $3,000 tournaments on Players’ Lounge Sports and the larger $50,000 tournament. Below are descriptions of each unique game mode.
Play a Friend/Road to College Football Playoffs
In Play a Friend, you can add your friend to compete against each other and try new things such as using new teams, practicing new adjustments, and most importantly having fun. Road to CFP is a system where you play 10 games to try to make the CFP and win a national championship. In this game mode you can use any team. When the game was released, there were only three tiers to rank teams, but they have expanded to include five tiers. These tiers are made for a more balanced matchup or trying to win a big game as an underdog attempting to pull and upset.
Road to Glory
Road to Glory is a mode in which you can play any position on any team and try to win a national championship with your team. There are four different options for starting your Road to glory: Underdog (Extreme), Contributor (Hard), Blue Chip (Medium), and Elite (Easy). In this mode, you walk on to a team or get recruited based on what mode you chose. When you join a college, you must work for a spot on the roster by balling out in practice or games to earn your coaches’ trust. Depending on how much the coach trusts you, your spot on the roster may vary from Qb1, Qb2, or Qb3. Some experts suggest players go to a lower tier school for their first year to improve and acclimate to college in an attempt to win the All-Conference or All-American. Once completed, then it is best to transfer to any school you desire to go ball-out in front of packed-out crowds and student sections.
Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team is a mode in which you build your team from scratch by opening packs or picking up players from the auction house. This is a mode that will likely cost money trying to get the best team to compete in the tournaments. Most casual players would consider this mode “pay to win” because the more packs you pay for, the better your team becomes and eventual wins. Two other modes in this game mode are Gauntlet and Champions: these are modes that are built for you to make coins to better you’re team. If you win enough games, you even get a free player.
Personal Experience
As an avid p[layer of this game, personally I’ve enjoyed the game since launch. I got the early access version and it was one of those games that when I started playing I just could not stop.
I haven’t had a bad experience with this game. I’ve loved every second of it so far.
