Every summer, aspiring STA football players are eager to give their all at Summer Sacrifice, hoping to earn a spot on the Varsity roster. For five days a week, all summer long from 3pm to 6pm, athletes lift weights, run sprints and practice agility . This test of strength and endurance can determine whether some players want to stay or leave. In order to keep the momentum, players must be mentally tough.
In the summer of 2024, the STA football team put in a lot of hard work and dedication to prepare for the upcoming season. Most fans don’t see the behind-the-scenes details of how the players sacrifice their time to get bigger, faster, stronger, and better. The coaches also dedicate time away from their families to make their athletes better players and people off the field. Here’s what a few players had to say.
