St. Thomas Aquinas High School is known for their success in football. They consistently reveal themselves as a dominant team in the sport. With dedicated coaches and students, the team has demonstrated advanced skills and teamwork on the field, including winning state championships four years in a row. Their practice and commitment have moved them ahead of other high school football teams, earning them recognition across the country. St. Thomas Aquinas’ football program serves as an example of excellence, inspiring students and fans with their achievements and passion for the game. All this success does not come easily though, there is a lot of work put in behind the scenes.
During the spring off-season, players still train consistently. Junior, Brandon Caballero confirmed, “We put in a lot of hard work during the off season, whether it’s working out or doing drills.” “I’ve learned lots of patience whether it’s through conditioning or patience with my teammates. I’ve also learned that this team is a family built by faith, and we have to work together to obtain this success. To get places in life you really have to go out there and get stuff done, and dedicate yourself.”
Football at STA teaches values off the field too. When it comes to balancing football and personal life, Brandon said, “It’s not easy balancing football and my job, I’ve had to change my schedule at work to align it with my athletic and academic goals. I also make sure to make time for my family, friends, and religion. The football program shows players how to find balance in life, which is essential to success. It honestly just helps make me a better person in life, and propels me close to success.”
